Kevin Redd has been appointed to University Council as a postgraduate member. He is currently in the role of Tasmanian University Postgraduate Association (TUPA) president and is working on a PhD at the University of Tasmania investigating the effects of fishing and the role of the southern rock lobster on temperate reefs.
Kevin graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz and spent many subsequent years working at sea on fisheries related issues in Alaska and Canada for both the International Pacific Halibut Commission and National Marine Fisheries Service. He moved to Hobart in 2002 to further his career in marine science.
Also passionate about culture, he is a small business owner and has experience in running restaurants, caterings and special events. He supports the links between science and the arts via events and publications through the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. |
