Wayne Goninon was elected to Council by the general staff of the University in 2008. He is currently Faculty Manager of Science, Engineering & Technology.
Wayne was educated in Hobart and joined the University of Tasmania in 1975 where he completed a BA part-time in 1981 majoring in Administration and Political Science.
He has held a number of Administrative posts and was Staff Officer (Personnel Manager) at the University for 6 years before moving into the Faculty in 1992.
Wayne has been involved in many University committees/activities outside the Faculty including the Alumni Committee, University Club Committee, Jane Franklin Hall (Fellow and Council member), University Soccer Club (Committee and Chair of Life Members Committee), Selection Committee for Crown Princess Mary Scholarship, National Science Week (NSWk) Committee and Grants Committee, Tasmanian NSWk Committee, co-ordinates Annual Science meets Parliament with David Bartlett MP, organizes the University Foundation Golf Day.
Wayne is married to Paula and they have four adult children (Simon, Holly, Hannah and Oliver) and two grandsons (Liam and Angus). |
